GTA Results of LPGA Amateurs UPME Sectional Championship Qualifier

On July 27th, the Upper Mid-East Sectional Championship Qualifier was held at Rebel Creek golf course located near Waterloo. There were 89 competitors from Canada and the United States of which there were 40 Scramble Team members and 49 Stroke Play members. Our GTA Chapter had two Scramble Teams and 8 Stroke Play members participating.

The Upper Mid-East Section (UPME) is one of 15 Sections and includes Chapters from Cleveland, OH, Durham, ON, Fort Wayne, IN, Greater Toronto Area, ON, Hamilton – Burlington, ON, Metro Detroit, MI, Waterloo Region, ON, and York-Simcoe, ON.

On the day of the UPME tournament, the weather was beautiful, including a brief cooling rain shower. Everyone seemed to enjoy the gifts, the picturesque course, the company of their opponents and the delicious lunch and most important, they had FUN.

Congratulations to all our GTA members who made it to this UPME sectional. You were great representatives of our chapter.

Congratulations to Susan M for finishing in first place with her low gross score in the Second Flight category. Susan is eligible to move on to Championship Finals in Palm Springs, California. Best of luck in the Finals, Susan!!!
